I had the opposite problem to you the other day.
I called the results helpline as they ask between 1pm and 2pm and the nurse said all bloods are ok. Now I know that this is not true as I have some high levels with red blood count and low with the white.
I asked her specifically what the MCV count was and she said oh you will have to call back tomorrow I moved away from the screen now. I asked if she could go back and look and she said no she was going back to her office now and I would have to call back the next day. I never bothered!
What I do now is go down and tell them I want a print-out of the results then I can look at them myself as I know which readings I am keeping an eye on.
