Can you damage your spine this way?

I was sitting on the edge of the bed, hunched over my phone for a good hour. I felt the need to stretch in the other direction, so to speak, and started laying back on the bed. I'm very overweight, so I'm sure my core muscles are essentially nonexistent. By the time my shoulders hit the bed, my back had arched really extremely, and it hurt. Not a hurt that makes you actually say 'Ow', but there was pain. It doesn't hurt now, but my hands are tingly and I'm afraid I did permanent damage to my spine. Any insight?

    Thank you!

You have probably just pulled a muscle, try a hot bath. If your spine was that easily damaged, we would all have broken spines X
