Re: Bitten by neighborhood stray cat. Worried about rabies

    Update:

Animal shelter called me back again. The cat is doing ok. They plan on adopting him out which is great. HeÂ’s usually such a sweet cat and this was so not like him to bite. But I know why he did. Another cat had been on the porch with him. Made him irritated. And, he just didnÂ’t wanna be bothered with me.

But , the good thing is that he is fine which like you said Poppy if he was showing any symptoms by the time he bit me on Tuesday he probably wouldnÂ’t be fine now.

I still want a rabies shot though just to make myself comfortable. I know itÂ’s silly but I worry so badly.

I will be calling the animal shelter back too in a week or so to find out if the poor kitty got adopted.

Unfortunately, there are a bunch of reasons a cat, especially a stray cat, could lose weight. The most likely causes are food insecurity (and cats eat less in the summer anyway) and/or worms.

I really don't think the series will be necessary - you would absolutely know if a cat had bitten and broken skin (I was bitten on the finger and bled a ton, and then had a scar for awhile) and the cat sounds healthy and fine anyway.

You're going to do what your dragon demands but shots are not necessary.

My anxiety is even worse tonight. My throat is clogged up with phlegm and I keep thinking it’s a rabies symptom. 😔

I am shaking and I am worried that it’s rabies. I am really scared.

I called the health department and animal control again and nothing back from them yet. I am so worried they are gonna tell me he’s got symptoms.

    I am freaking out.

Animal shelter called back. They said again that they don’t think he has rabies and that he’s still doing fine.

I want to so badly but him and my cat don’t get along at all. My cat has ran out the door on multiple occasions and fought with him 😔
