HELP need quick response! pill stuck in throat!

i have just eaten a round pilland its hurting my throat and feels like its stuck in there.

im scared if i drink or eat anything it will mound up and go into my lungs please help is it stuck in my throat? what do i do to make it go down it really hurts, feels like i need to be sick.

Also, it might not be actually stuck in there at all. What can often happen is that a pill will stick on the way down and will cause the muscles to go tense, making the pill feel as though it's still there. A drink of water and a biscuit will usually sort it out.

Sometimes it feels like its stuck when its not. Drinking and eating will help it pass x

I once swallowed a tiny pill without water and got bad chest pain, and as it was the middle of the night (I used to stay up late), called NHS Direct. I was convinced that I'd inhaled it because of how painful it was, and I suppose the nurse could only go on what I described over the phone so she basically left the decision to go to A&E with me. I decided not to go, and went to sleep propped up. The next morning I felt a little bit of pain but that quickly went, and I think most of that was from my continual coughing the night before, to try and dislodge it.

I think it must've scratched something on the way down, which then made it feel like it was stuck, but by then it'd probably been in my stomach for a long time!
