upping the dose

will someone please tell me the answer to this question............. after 4 wks on citalopram and suffering some side effects, my dose has been upped to 20mg( suffering anxiety and panic attacks). Now on day 5 of new dose and all of a sudden the headaches have returned as has the sore throat, the spaced out feeling and anxious feelings and feeling unwell. IS THIS NORMAL WHEN YOU UP THE DOSE AND WILL IT STOP? I had just started to lose the side effects from the 10mg and this is doing my head in!!!! someone please please tell me!!!!!Thankyou in anxious anticipation for any replies!!

Yup each time they up the dose you will go through more side effects I am afraid.

Yes it's normal, stick with it if you can but if you can't cope then go back to your doc for advice. I couldn't take 20mg of citalopram and had to drop back down and then switch to escitalopram.
