my daughter as been fainting so went to her gp for tests. the blood test showed her iron to be low and shes been given tablets for a month. the worrying part is the ecg which as picked up a heart problem, where the blood pumping into her heart doesnt work correctly so the readings have been sent to a specialist. as a natural worrier its really putting the pressure on and im frightened for her. felt i needed to share this with someone, not sure why.

Of course you want to share Kestral, it lightens the load and I bet someone here can relate to this and will soon put your mind at rest. If the doctors are aware then you're on the way to a solution and explanation and that is the best thing. Take care and try your hardest not to worry.

Hello Kestral,

Well, this is the place to share - joys and concerns.

It's only natural you're worried about your daughter - any parent would be under the circumstances....I know I would be.

But, steps are in place to find out the cause for the results and so I'd 'hang on in there' until you hear from the specialist.

I won't say to you 'don't worry at all' because that would be impossible for you - but I would say try not to think too far ahead or surmise what the conclusion will be.

I have three daughters and would feel exactly the same as you - so have some hugs eh?

:hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:

Hi Kestral,

Out of the blue on Wednesday my 10 year old fainted twice in half an hour at School. She showed absolutely no signs of being ill at all that morning and even ate two pancakes for breakfast and had juice so it wasn't low blood sugar that caused it.
We had her checked over at the Docs and they couldn't find anything wrong and she seems to be fine now. They said if it happens again they will run more tests but I can relate to just how worrying this is for you as it's the same for me.
Lets try to think positive hun. :hugs:

thanks for the replies, i guess its been one of those years as both myself and my wife have had hospital investigations recently. my wife as had 2 ops as the 1st one didnt work, the 1st in 2005 and the 2nd in 2006 and shes twice been rushed into hospital when shes collapsed due to severe abdominal pains by ambulance, my daughter had a knee op last year and depression and ive got bp and heart related condition as well as having a bowel investigations, which turned out ok. blimey when i read this back, no wonder im feeling the pace at the moment.

my daughter as now been fitted with a 48 hour tape as the specialist requested this to further investigate her problem. i wondered if anyone else as had these tests at such a young age.
