Hi Lesley

I get something similiar too. I used to have terrible thoughts about people who crossed me, but I realised it's just part of the illness.

But remember, they are just intrusive thoughts, and you know it's not what you wish, just put it down to a sympton of your anxiety.

Right, I am off to have a think about my mother in law.

Hi Lesley, :hugs:

As you can see hun, your not alone on this, Ohh Mrs anxiety up to her tricks again, always remember, there only thoughts and thoughts can be changed.

When I was acute I have some horrible thoughts, some of them I am ashamed to mention  I know now, that it was my emotional illness. I still may have a thought like this, ohh could kill hubby, BUT, it does not bother me anymore, not at all, you will find that even people who don't suffer from anxiety may get a fleeting thought like this, because your anxiety levels are high, you will notice these thoughts and give them attention, ohhh boy, Mrs anxiety loves that, she feeds on our negative's and fears Just think for a moment, notice, the thoughts are always scary negative ones, NEVER postive, Mrs anxiety needs are negative thoughts to survive, she needs our fear. I know its dame hard but try not to fear these thoughts, without fear, the toughts go.

Here are some links, taken from this great site :yesyes: of course :yesyes:

This forum is amazing i logged on this morning as am suffering really badly with horrible thoughts exactly the same as lizzie describes and just spent a while reading through everyones own experiences and advice. It helps sooo much to know you are not alone and more importantly that these are just thoughts and you are not about to harm anyone or yourself.
My anxiety has reared this time from kind of life changes decisions about having kids, so a lot of my thoughts are about what if i harmed my nephews or other children, these thoughts horrify me and upset me so much. I have to keep telling myself this will never happen.
Thanks so much to you all, this forum is a life saver
