View Full Version : Agonizing wait
Anyone else suffer with extreme anxiety waiting for blood test results to the point where it feels like you are going to pass out??
I seriously cannot take this waiting......but then again I do not want to know the results either.....:scared15:
This is a common one on this forum. A ton of us get nervous waiting for the results!!
So horrible - consumes my whole day thinking about it...
If anything alarming shows up you wouldn't be waiting though. I had a phone call in the early hours once (NHS). FBCs are normally back the next day, 48 hours max.
Surgery said this evening no results are back and it could take 10 days now as there is a coelic blood test requested and they take a while, once thats completed they send all the results through at once
Seriously, waiting for 10 days.... I cant do this!
Does anyone think that even if the celiac test results takes 10 days to be sent through that if anything abnormal was found with all the other tests taken i.e. FBC, liver etc..they would inform the GP when those tests are run or would they wait 10 days still?
I am very anxious right now!
Kay - if anything abnormal had flagged up, you would be called into the surgery. Easier said than done, but try to distract yourself. X
I am just thinking that if something was abnormal would they wait for the celiac test results to be sent to the GP or would they inform the GP before the results of the celiac test?
They would inform the GP beforehand, they wouldn't wait for the coeliac results x
Do you think within 48 hours the other bloods tests would have been done by now? Or would they store the bloods and test it later?
I just called the GP surgery as no results are back yet, the lady told me that the routine tests would have been run already and if results were out of range they would have contacted the GP surgery by now.....BUT they send all the results together, celiac could take another week or so.
I'm still waiting for the results of a biopsy I had taken over 3 weeks ago to find out if I have womb cancer.
Honestly.....the wait is agonizing..
Your FBC result is obviously fine, Kay
Blood results & celiac test has come back normal
That's good news, Kay. Highly unlikely you have any internal bleeding with no sign of anaemia
Hi Pulisa
Yes very glad the results are normal, got the gastro appointment on Spe 22nd to get down to the 'bottom' of my chronic stomach pains and on/off changing bowel habits.....whats the point of worrying eh....what will be will be....
