I just wondered if anyone had any strategies or good self talk when they are tempted to begin examining themselves for any abnormalities, eg. checking their throat in the mirror, feeling collarbone or neck - things like that. I get these thoughts in my head that I need to check to make sure I am ok, but usually when I do I feel something that isn't 100% and then the cycle of anxiety starts all over. I know other people struggle with this too so I was wondering if anyone had any strategies to help me resist this urge or need to check myself. Thanks in advance!

Distract yourself when tempted, do the ironing, tidy out a drawer, sort through your wardrobe anything that stops you from checking xxx

A good one for me is to put on a really upbeat or rocking song, like Guns and Roses or something. Think of a song that always made you happy or excited and maybe play it.
