Got told today that a CT abdomen scan I had found a few calcifications near my urethra - no idea what this means and I'm really trying to stay away from google and not look it up because I know it will bring up cancer of some type. My GP is sending my scan to a specialist urologist to look at, yet the GP at my surgery I spoke to yesterday told me everyone gets them as they get older and she's not concerned in the slightest. How ambiguous can you get? What am I supposed to think????? Anyone else had these?

If they are in your bladder as such then maybe tiny tiny stones like kidney stones as they can be of calcium??
Hopefully someone with more knowledge will be along soon.

It sounds like stones to me too.

I was told they are not stones but deposits so maybe they just havent formed yet or are left over from stones.

I had a "calcified" gland in my lady bits. It felt like a rock hard little pea under the skin. I freaked out about it, but the gynaecologist removed and tested it and said it was completely benign. He explained that the stuff had just built up in the gland then "calcified" (gone hard, essentially). This was years ago, and I've never had trouble since. Might be something similar?
