Has anyone had success with their penpals?

Hello everyone! So when I first made my post here. However as time went on I noticed that the contact only last through two letters if best. For me I like a commitment since I would like to develop a friendship with my penpal. I'm curious to see if I'm not the only one in this situation. Did any of you guys run into a similar problem? It can be incredibly frustrating when this happens. If you didn't have any problems I would like to hear your success stories. :)
